Established by the British in 1927 as India’s first ski resort, Gulmarg, is also India’s finest. In 1998 India’s 1st National Winter Games were held here. Gulmarg has excellent winter infrastructure – modern equipments, ski-lifts and cable car and lots of powdery snow to play in.

The toy train which travels from Kurseong to Darjeeling is the most memorable experience partly because it is pulled by one of the few steam engines left in the country and also because of the magnificent mountain scenery along its leisurely jouney.
